Is it permanent?
Yes, henna and herbal hair dyes are permanent. Just remember that if you don't give your hair the proper love and care, the color might start to take a slow fade away.
How can I maintain my color results for as long as possible?
- Avoid using hot water to wet your hair. Hot water can make the pigment fade faster.
- Try to avoid using shampoos and conditioners with sulfates or parabens, as these can strip away the color.
- Use a shampoo and conditioner specifically designed for color-treated hair.
- Use a mild, sulfate-free clarifying shampoo once a month to remove any product buildup that might be dulling the color.
- Use a deep conditioning treatment once a week to keep your hair hydrated and healthy.
- Wear a hat or scarf when you’re out in the sun to protect your hair from fading.
- Use a color-protecting hairspray, as this will help to lock in the color.

Can it lighten your hair?
Henna and plant based dyes, like indigo and bhringraj, add color and vibrancy to your hair, not to mention some beautiful undertones like red, orange, or gold that make your hair sparkle in the sun. However, these plant-based products won't lighten your hair like peroxide-based products, but they'll give your hair a beautiful shine.
Can I go back to chemical dyes if I’m not happy with henna?
Henna is a natural dye that is used to color hair and is often used as an alternative to chemical dyes. While henna is generally safe and can provide beautiful results, it is not for everyone. If you are not happy with the results of henna, you can always go back to chemical dyes. Keep in mind that using the same chemical colors as the herbal colors you used or chemically darkening your herbal hair dye is fine. However, chemically lifting henna to for example a blonde color is more challenging and requires consultation with your hairdresser.

Our products are free of metallic salts, PPD and additives, so they're totally safe to use with other chemical treatments and coloring agents. We suggest waiting a few weeks between chem-coloring and henna-coloring, but if you can't wait, the henna will help repair any damage caused by the chemical dye and make your hair look and feel amazing! Don't forget to do a strand test, though, especially if you're using indigo, as it could make your hair look green if used over chemically treated hair - but don't worry, it usually fades after a few days.
